Marshall's DSL100HR is a 100-watt tube guitar amplifier head from the DSL series. It has a classic gain channel that offers a more traditional guitar sound, while the ultra gain channel is more modern. It's easy to switch between them using the included foot pedal. The classic gain channel gives you the choice between clean and crunch, while the ultra gain channel has two different types of overdrive giving you four different sounds in all. You can also get scooped mids by using the Tone Shift button.

DSL100HR: Two master volumes and a switchable FX loop

Each channel has its own gain, volume and reverb controls, and there are two master volume controls on board as well so that you can give your sound an extra boost when you really want it to stand out. The DSL100HR is equipped with ECC83 and EL84 tubes for an authentic British sound. External effects can be added too via the FX loop and you can easily turn them on or off using the dedicated switch.

Presence, resonance and impedance

To add more crispness and bite to your sound, turn up the presence knob that controls the amount of high frequencies in your tone, while the resonance knob does the same for the bottom end. Both give you additional ways to customise your sound over and above the 3-band EQ. The DSL100HR has 5 speaker outputs on board giving you the option to use 4, 8 or 16 ohm speakers. There's also an emulated out with cabinet simulation which means you can enjoy the same great sound when you connect the amp directly to equipment like a mixer or an audio interface as well. Finally, there's a line/MP3 input and a MIDI input which means you can also control this amp head using MIDI equipment.
